HOW CAN WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR NDP09
It's our nation BIGGEST BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION on 9 August!
Please do not feel sad or discourange if your friends or family members are saying that ndp is a waste of time as they are not being selected to march or be part of NDP09. We are not so desperate to select any TOM, DICK or HARRY to join NDP09. We only select those who had better character and good attitute ones to join our SCOUT marching contingent! Of course, your Scout Leaders also help along for selection and registration process. Wonder why your Scout Leaders select you to join NDP09, it's not just because of Frank Cooper Sands award, but most importantly, they want you to learn the discipline, teamwork and morale.
I am pleased to hear our Contingent Commander, Adrian Nyoe mentioned last Saturday, 6 June 09 about Esprite De Corps. Our SCOUT contingent needs to maintain our morale and belief that we can succeed despites of all the criticism, backstabbing and bad mouthing etc.
Not knowing foot drill and how to march is a Secondly question to us. Everyone has the start somewhere, as trainers & instructors, we will help you to do better and make good improvement week after week as we have confident in you!
It's not easy to be the best, achievements and hard work although pays well at the end of the journey. The journey that we have to go through at times will take longer with winding roads and hidden obstacles preventing it.
Remember this, you are now part of our NDP09 Scout Marching Contingent, you are a member of this contingent and we are now your Part-time family. As family, we will help one another along this long journey. So, no matter what others had said negatively, please do not listen too much and concern about this people. Most importantly, the people who are putting the show together for all citizens of Singapore to watch, we are part of the whole show, we make a difference for NDP09 and for SINGAPORE.
The organisers, trainers and instructors who also volunteers do put alot of efforts every week to ensure good show performance, your safety and well being, taking care of your weekly meals (KFC/Pizza Hut/Old Chang Kee goodies etc), drinks, aircon bus transport and medical attention etc.
In order to show our appreciation for your GRATITUTE & ACTIVE PARTICIPATION towards making a difference for NDP09, besides getting CCA Points, clocking in for NYAA, Scout Record Book etc.
We at SSA HQ has also arranged the followings:-
1) Free Foot Drill Lessons - trainers & instructors to train you and help you attain the foot drill proficiency badge and certificate.
2) NDP Award Badges - to award you on 9 August for completion of 1st, 2nd, 3rd years of service.
3) A complimentary set of uniform - to replace all the sweat that worn out our current uniform and the hard work for making sure we look smart on 9 August.
4) Two complimentary NDP09 Tee Shirts - one from the main NDP09 organisers and the other one from SSA HQ.
5) NDP09 Goody Bag - to give away for your active participations and contributions towards NDP09.
6) Appreciation Party on 9 August at SSA HQ - you will be presented Certificates of Appreciations from the organiser of NDP09 and SSA HQ etc. So enjoy the good food and programme that we had in store for you soon.
(All of the above which I understand from some UGs, they do not have.)
So, keep up all the hard work done for those who had for the past week coming for ndp and turning up on time punctually. Continue the Good Job All!
Thank you for your kind support and understanding.
